To our knowledge, we’ve created a world first: a town-wide reuse system connecting local businesses and customers; with a shared vision for a circular economy.

Since launching in 2022, Mug Library has sparked genuine connections and behaviour change — one quirky cup at a time.

While it all started here, it’s not just a local project. Our goal is to establish Mug Library in towns across Australia, saving mugs from landfill and repurposing them as shared community assets.

After only 12 months of data collection, we’ve upcycled more than 1,500 mugs with our regional stakeholders.

Word is spreading organically. We’ve heard from cafés in Urunga, Bonville, Scotts Head and Nana Glen, as well as Kyneton in Victoria and Bridgetown in WA.
