Bellingen Show 2025

Since 1881, through floods, pandemics, and world wars, our beloved Show has been a cornerstone event for 144 years. Created by locals – for locals – it belongs to us all.

We had hundreds of mugs on standby and a crew of enthusiastic mug librarians ready to support the 5 coffee vans booked in for the weekend of May 24/25th. Unfortunately the wild, wet weather resulted in the show not going ahead. See letter below from the president Susan Lumsdaine…

Dear Bellingen Show Community,

It is with profound disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of the 2025 Bellingen Show, which was scheduled for May 24-25.

Following extensive rainfall over the past month and with more predicted in the coming week, the Showground has become extremely waterlogged. The ground is now soft, boggy, and unsafe for the substantial setup operations that were due to commence this weekend.

Safety First

This difficult decision was made by the committee with the safety and wellbeing of everyone at the forefront of our minds:

  • Our dedicated volunteers who would be working in hazardous conditions during setup
  • Exhibitors and their animals who would be at risk on unstable ground
  • All visitors who would face challenging and potentially dangerous conditions at the Showground

The Bellinger River floodplain location of our Showground gives us beautiful surroundings, but in times of extended wet weather, it presents significant challenges that we simply cannot overcome.
